Cancergiggles is an idiot's guide to accepting, living with, laughing at and dying from cancer. The very, very last bit I can't be absolutely sure of, but then who the hell can? I could have written some beautifully crafted, grammatically correct essays but I hope you will understand, that when I say "I don't have a lot of time" I mean it far more literally than you do. I just wanted scribble a few thoughts to maybe light a spark in people - and then it became a book about Cancer, Life, Death, Illness and Politics. ISBN 0955198801

IN THE TOWER HELEN

IN THE TOWER

I had assumed that Wizard Central was a place devoted entirely to healing those with excess and malignant cells; however I am now beginning to have my doubts because yesterday I discovered that the Head Cancer Wizard is keeping a fair maiden prisoner. Lady Helen is being held in a room almost at the top of the tower and I think she may be being brain washed. I was first introduced to her a couple of months ago and was told that she was a Wizard on attachment from another place but now she has developed the glazed look and manic laugh common to all devotees of the Cancer Arts. After living with cancer for a few years, you begin to recognise “the look” which is very similar to the one Jack Nicholson has when he’s happy and tormenting people.

The mystery, is what are these poor souls being prepared for? Lady Helen’s predecessor was a nice young man who just disappeared without a trace. Maybe they get sacrificed when their smile becomes too scary for the patients or maybe they just get sent to one of those hospitals for special people when they outlive their usefulness. Whatever the truth, it can only be the responsibility of the Head Wizard because he has been there since the beginning of time. He has much to answer for.
